Dr. Zorrilla (or Dr. Z) currently helps direct the Model United Nations program. She also teaches high school history courses included IB History and Global and Spanish History as well as middle school ancient history at the American School of Valencia. Though she is new to ASV this year, she had been teaching various social studies courses and advised MUN in the United States for the past 20 plus years. Opportunities like MUN give students real world experience in diplomacy, creative problem solving, global understanding and communication. It is important for students to realize that teaching is not just sitting at a desk completing assignments. Education is empowering and liberating and demands curiosity, passion and action by the individual to try to understand the intricacies of global situations. It may seem impossible to solve situations, but the only way to ensure failure is by not attempting to improve situations.
Mr. Marc Boyer is currently the Community Activities Coordinator at American School of Valencia. He also teaches IB Theory of Knowledge and is the CAS coordinator.
