Irene Morillas

President

Irene Morillas Flores serves as the president for the Enviromental committee at VALMUN '23. Born in Valencia, Irene has been attending the American School of Valencia from a young age. Currently a senior, she had an enriching experience during her 10th-grade year when she studied abroad in Canada as an exchange student. Irene's journey in the world of Model United Nations began in 6th grade when she attended her first conference. Since then, she has actively participated in various MUN conferences as a delegate, a chair and an admin, thoroughly enjoying her engagements in these roles. However, eager to take her involvement to the next level, Irene is excited about her new role as a president. Through her past experiences, Irene has realized the immense potential MUN holds in fostering personal growth and learning. As a president, she looks forward to motivating and encouraging delegates to give their best, in order to create a successful committee and gain valuable insights from the experience. For Irene, the key to a fruitful and enriching debate lies in the collective efforts of all participants, wherein everyone contributes to the growth and improvement of the committee's proceedings.

Sophie Rosemary Mora Selvi

Chair

Sophie Rosemary Mora Selvi is a chair of the Environmental committee. She is currently a sophomore at the American School of Valencia, and has attended ASV for 12 years. She was born and raised in an English/Spanish family in Valencia, Spain. Sophie joined MUN in 8th grade because she thought it would be a fun social event. After attending 4 MUN conferences including MadMUN,ValMUN and BCNMUN conferences she can say that MUN has helped her develop confidence and better public speaking skills, also it has made her aware of the many problems that the world is facing. MUN has given Sophie a lot of treasured memories, and she hopes that as a Chair she can make it possible for a new generation of delegates to be able to have fun and useful experiences for their daily life. For her, MUN has brought many new friends, memories and experiences. She looks forward to helping others do this too.

Elena Minuesa

Chair

Elena Minuesa Orero is the chair of the Environmental Committee. She is a senior at the American School of Valencia, having lived her whole life in Valencia. Elena is passionate about field hockey, enjoys reading, and loves spending time with her friends. She has extensive experience in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences, having participated four times: once as an admin, twice as a delegate, and once as a chair. Elena believes that the MUN program is invaluable for students, as it enhances global awareness, sharpens public speaking and debating skills, and fosters essential leadership qualities
