Lluc Blanco is the president of the Security Council. He is a junior at the American School of Valencia and has been a student of ASV for twelve years. Lluc was born in Valencia in 2010 and has been living his whole life there. During this time, he began participating in MUN in 7th grade, with a total of 8 conferences, ranging from VALMUN and MADMUN, to BCNMUN. He began participating in conferences due to his keenness for geopolitics and wish to improve his public speaking.
During his MUN experiences, Lluc was able to increase his quality of public speaking alongside assertiveness in discourse, two things that he sees key to having a successful speech and an interesting debate, and will work towards making this year’s Security Council an area where these are not only fostered but achieved. For him, MUN has been and will continue to be a distinctive experience in his time as a student, filled with enjoyable memories and certainly grateful to have participated in all that he has done. This year, Lluc has the honor to take the serious role of president of the Security Council, and alongside his fellow chairs will make sure that the best possible debate is achieved and delegates may grow not only as delegates but also as individuals
Sergio Arques Aparicio is one of the chairs for the Security Council Committee this VALMUN 2026. Sergio was born in 2011 in Valencia, raised in Spanish territory throughout his whole life. Sergio is in his third year in American School of Valencia, as before he attended Cambridge House Community College for over 10 years, the place where he discovered MUN. Sergio recounts multiple charming MUN experiences throughout his delegate career, attending VALMUN and MADMUN on various occasions. Throughout all his MUN experiences, Sergio has been constantly rewarded by his debating and negotiating skills, been praised by his elevated vocabulary, public speaking, and enthusiastic behaviour.
MUN preparation has provided Sergio with another perspective of our modern society, a phase where the delegate came up with various solutions for the most severe crisis of our world. Now, Sergio has taken the step to become a chair, the most essential figure to come up with a serious, equal, and attractive debate. As a chair, his objective is to create an enriching environment where the best delegates of all VALMUN will debate each other to find a common solution to the complex proposals presented by the Security Council committee. Sergio, as a past and present figure of VALMUN debating, seeks to find in his committee seriousness, toughness, and quality coming from all delegates, but at the same time pleasure, honour, and delight to take part in the Security Council debate.
Maeva Moran is a chair of the Security Council. She is a Sophomore (10th grade) student at the American School of Valencia, with a passion for debating and public speaking. She was born and raised in San Francisco, California, until her family and she moved to Spain in 2019, and absolutely fell in love with Valencia. She started participating in Model UN conferences in 7th grade. Throughout her Model UN experience, Maeva has attended a total of seven conferences in Spain, including: Madrid (MADMUN), Barcelona (BCNMUN), and Valencia (VALMUN), however this will be her first conference chairing, which she is very much looking forward to.
MUN has been such an amazing experience for Maeva as she has not only traveled, and made many friends, but because she has grown from each conference. At her first experience she only talked once. When she went up to the podium, her hands were shaking, her voice was soft, her eyes not looking up from the words written on her page, and a teardrop fell from her face when another delegate asked a POI she didn't know how to respond to. However, she learned, improved, and grew into being the delegate she is today with four best delegate awards under her belt. Maeva is so excited to meet all of the delegates to soon be debating the pressing Security Council issues, with passion and enthusiasm!
