Justine Hearon is excited to serve as President of the Environmental Committee at ValMUN 2026. Currently in her fifth year at the American School of Valencia, she has participated in multiple Model UN conferences as a delegate, making this her first experience as president. Beyond MUN, Justine is an ASV Ambassador, a leader of Eco Club, a member of Yearbook Club, and takes part in creating videos for a school associated account. With aspirations of pursuing a career in public relations, she values the communication, leadership, and perseverance skills she has developed through Model UN, as well as the opportunity to meet new people and explore different perspectives. She hopes to create a welcoming environment that encourages meaningful debate and wishes all delegates a successful and memorable conference.
Alicia Pontif is a chair for the Environmental Committee. While this is her first time chairing at a conference, she has five Model UN experiences as a delegate. Beginning her MUN journey in grade 6 at the International School of Stuttgart, in Germany, she has participated in numerous conferences through her current school in Spain, including VALMUN and MADMUN. Alicia has lived in three different countries and moved seven times in her life. She has always had a passion for debate and has become very interested in politics and international relations over the past few years, transitioning from middle school to high school. As a current sophomore student at the American School of Valencia, Alicia continues her dedication to sports in addition to her academic commitments and extracurricular activities. She believes the program has instilled a greater sense of confidence when public speaking, more efficient research skills and an inquiry based mindset regarding the prominent issues of today’s world. Alicia hopes to encourage this year’s group of delegates across the course of the debate and to share the incredible experiences that come with this ValMUN.
Mar Torres is a 10th-grade student at the American School of Valencia and is excited to serve as Chair of the Environmental Committee. This will be her seventh MUN experience but her first time chairing, making it especially meaningful to her. Outside of MUN, Mar enjoys travelling, going to the beach, watching movies, and spending time with her friends and family. She plans to pursue Selectividad next year and is still exploring her future career interests. As chair, Mar hopes to create a welcoming environment where delegates feel comfortable sharing their ideas, participating in debates, and, most importantly, enjoying the experience. She looks forward to meeting everyone and making the conference a memorable experience!
