Jose Hernandez Gorriz is the president of Disarmament 2026. He is currently an 11th grade student in the American School of Valencia. He was born in Valencia, Spain, and has lived in Valencia his whole life. He started participating in Model UN conferences in 7th grade. Throughout his Model UN experience, Jose has attended a total of eight conferences all around the world, including conferences in Barcelona, Madrid, and Valencia. He has experienced the UN from different places and met different people. This will be his second year chairing but first year as president. Jose enjoys MUN in all aspects: debating, playing sports in the afternoons, but the most important thing he gained was the friendships along the way. MUN has improved drastically a lot of Jose's skills like confidence, research skills, speaking in public, meeting new people, and many more. Jose believes that through taking the role of Chair, he hopes to encourage all delegates to participate and help them see what he saw in MUN, as he was once in their position. He looks forward to attending VALMUN as President of the Disarmament Committee, and will be expecting a great debate with the delegates.
Borbála (Bori) Grépály is a chair for disarmament at VALMUN and is currently an 11th grade student at the American School of Valencia. She has participated in two VALMUN conferences where she has experienced model United Nations as both a delegate and through an administrative role. Through MUN Bori has developed her interest for international relations, public speaking and global issues. She specifically enjoys following international politics and current events, especially in countries that affect her personally such as in her home country, Hungary where she was born and raised. Outside of MUN Boris has been involved in student council for four years the same amount she has been in ASV serving as class representative three times and a secretary in other words, grade representative once. These experiences have helped her develop leadership, communication and organisational skills leading to her choice of being a chair this year. As someone who hopes to pursue acting in the future, she also values opportunities to improve her confidence and become more comfortable speaking in front of others. She hopes to help delegates have fun and be able to achieve similar things in this year's conference. She also looks forward to meeting new people learning from different perspectives and helping delegates enjoy MUN as much as she does.
Lily Servais is a chair for Disarmament. She is a junior in the American School of Valencia. She has lived in Valencia for 4 years and before that, lived in many places around the world. She comes from a Belgian family and was born there before moving to California for 6 years, then the Canary Islands. Lily has had the opportunity to participate in many MUN conferences and is passionate about debating and public speaking. She has really appreciated the life-long skills that come along with these conferences and debates such as problem-solving, communicating, confidence, and expanding your knowledge and worldwide issues. She wants to be a chair because it is an area she is deeply interested in and hopes to develop for her future. She is honoured to take part in this year's VALMUN and to enrich students' experience. MUN has granted me many different memories, friends, and knowledge that I hope everyone has the opportunity to enjoy.
Emilia Munoz is a chair in the Disarmament committee. She was born in 2011, in March. She has participated in the BCNMUN, VALMUN, and MADMUNs of the past year, and VALMUNs and MADMUNs of previous years. Likewise, this year she is looking forward to being a chair in order to help foster the same experience for other people. Other information about this chair is that she is in 10th grade, and was born in the United States, and moved to Valencia at age 12. Looking towards the future, Emilia hopes that these debates will motivate delegates to continue with MUN, or maybe even open up the option of something involving public speaking or UN work as a career to them. Emilia hopes that the upcoming conference will be a positive and beneficial experience that allows for the free flow of ideas and debate.
